Recently, one of my closest friends had a babe. She's the outset parent in the friend group and living vicariously through her journey has been educational, to say the least. There is just sooo much nigh having a baby that nobody really talks nigh until it's happening.

Then when I came beyond 32-year-old Emily Haswell's TikTok sharing things she never thought about before having a baby, I laughed, I cried, I hitting the share push, and I was admittedly fascinated with the chat in the comments.

And she says she wants to normalize people sharing the real, not-artful parts of parenting. "There is so much content out there that is just parents in sparkling white kitchens who never mutter. That's very inspirational, but parents should be reminded that you tin can honey your kid with all your center and still be annoyed that y'all can't go to a film whenever yous want. Joking around most the realities of parenthood doesn't make you any less grateful for your baby."
